The Jahjaga Foundation, within the Jahjaga Institute for Women, Peace and Security (JWPSI), will support the publication of a book that addresses the theme of WPS.

The Agenda for Women, Peace and Security, adopted by the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 in 2000, recognizes the disproportionate impact that conflicts have on women and emphasizes the importance of their inclusion in all phases of peace and security, from conflict prevention, to peace negotiations, peacebuilding and post-conflict recovery. This global agenda calls for increasing women’s representation in decision-making, protecting their rights during and after conflicts, and ensuring justice for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. In our region and beyond, the implementation of this agenda remains essential to building inclusive, just and sustainable peace.

Drawing on this global framework and on Kosovo’s own experience as a post-conflict society, the Institute, through this book, aims to enrich the Albanian-language literature on women’s experiences in post-conflict countries and to provide a valuable resource for scholars, policymakers, students, civil society organizations, and institutions working in the field of women’s rights, peace, and transitional justice.
