1. Background
The Jahjaga Foundation is seeking experienced service providers (individuals or companies) to collaborate on the project “Seeds of Empowerment: Women in Agriculture,” supported by UNMIK Kosovo. This project aims to empower women from marginalized communities by providing professional skills and practical support in food processing and helping them become financially independent and successful entrepreneurs in the agriculture sector.
2. Purpose of Engagement
Fourteen (14) women beneficiaries will receive support from experts in agriculture and food processing. This intervention will enhance their technical knowledge and practical skills in agricultural production, food processing, and product development. The support aims to improve product quality and the beneficiaries’ ability to meet market demands and standards. Additionally, women will gain basic management skills to support the development of their small-scale agri-food initiatives. Agriculture experts will deliver theoretical and practical training sessions on food processing, along with face-to-face agricultural consultations.
3. Required Services
We are seeking service providers capable of conducting professional training for the following groups:
- 7 women beneficiaries in the Lipjan municipality
- 7 women beneficiaries in the Graçanica municipality
Training topics include:
- Technical knowledge: Use of equipment and production processes in agriculture
- Creative and innovative skills: Developing product ideas and adapting to market demands
- Business management: Financial planning, marketing, sales, and human resources management
- Business support: Business plan development and applications for financing
Total beneficiaries: 14 women (7 from Lipjan, 7 from Graçanica) will have the opportunity to participate in advanced trainings for the development of agricultural businesses.
4. Eligibility Criteria for Service Providers
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in training and capacity building in the above areas
- Experience working with marginalized communities and women empowerment projects
- Ability to provide training materials and resources
- Willingness to collaborate in a multicultural environment and create an inclusive learning setting
- Commitment to gender equality principles and socio-economic empowerment of women
